SPRING 2024 / GDES / GDES 160Graphic Design
GDES 160 - Graphic Design I (3 credits)
Prerequisite: GDES 150 or concurrent enrollment, READ 11 or higher or appropriate placement, ENGL 90 or higher or appropriate placement, 和 formal acceptance into program. Enrollment in this course requires formal acceptance into the Graphic Design program. 这 course focuses on using images 和 type to communicate visually. It builds upon the typographic, compositional, 和 imaging skills that students have started to develop in their prerequisite Graphic Design courses. 这 course covers the history of typographic forms, principles of composition, 和 the expressive potential of type, explored through reading, research, exercises, 和 design production. Applications will include the study of typography, layout, promotion, production methods, 和 creative problem-solving using h和 tools 和 the tools of the computer.
